The Gooding Soil Conservation District is a sub-entity of state government supported through state and county funds, but is not a taxing district. Begun in 1947, the Gooding SCD, has attempted to promote the wise use of natural resources, using the newest technology available to bridge the gap between a strong economy and a healthy environment.

The Board of Supervisors consists of volunteers who are elected to four year terms. These men and women have focused on a program of education and incentive-based projects using the technical expertise provided by partner agencies.
